Circa joins Cunard on the high seas
Performers stated they were excited for the opportunity to take the show to the seas. They said it was the first time some of them had ever been on a cruise ship, let alone performing on one. When asked how they might manage their high-flying stunts on the waves, they laughed. Head of Circus Rowan Heydon-White said the group was trained in improvisation and if anything happened on stage, “it would add to the show, not detract.”
Circa has been touring the world since 2004, performing in more than 40 countries and to more than 1.5 million people.
Circa Executive Director, Shaun Comerford says Circa has performed in some of the most prestigious venues in the world. From the stages of the Southbank Centre London to the Paris Philharmonie and the Sydney Opera House, and is “delighted to partner with Cunard to bring Circa aboard the iconic Queen Elizabeth”.
Circa will perform for guests onboard the 2,069-passenger ship in a six-week residency from 1 February 2024 to 10 March 2024 whilst the ship sails in Australian and New Zealand waters.
