Thailand totally banned the import of plastic scrap and electronic waste in 2020. Nonetheless, we still see domestically generated electronic and industrial waste being illegally dumped in many parts of the country. In an attempt to get waste from electronic equipment and other hazardous waste under control, appropriate legal measures are required. Deputy Director General of Pollution Control Department, Preeyaporn Suwanaged told Thai PBS World that she hopes the e-waste draft bill will finalized so the law can be implemented this year.
