British contemporary multi-disciplinary artist Claire Luxton has added some floral flair to the recently opened Aster Bar, a rooftop fine-wining venue perched on the 32nd floor of the $120 million refurbished InterContinental Sydney.
Until the 1st of April, the bar will be completely transformed into a vibrant, colourful floral and sensory oasis with a collection of one-of-a-kind NFTs curated in partnership with Luxton.
The living flora and fauna installations include butterflies and botanicals.
Having first premiered in London, then Dubai and New York, the custom artwork in Sydney will also feature in InterContinental Osaka, and InterContinental Singapore.
Wining and dining
View the works while soaking up some of Sydney’s best views and sipping a limited-edition cocktail created by Aster’s head mixologist: a gin-based cocktail of champagne foam with an edible artwork topper.
There’s also an extensive wine list of local and international wines. Krug Grande Cuvée, anyone? And you can pair the drink of your choice with some moreish morsels. Think: half-shell Hervey Bay scallop ceviche with finger line and seaweed; a side of Riverina haloumi with jamón serrano and zhoug; and squid ink, truffle and free-range pork salami. And finish with caramelised nut tart with chocolate ganache. Rooftop bars don’t get much better.
