KUALA LUMPUR — Khazanah Nasional Berhad will spearhead the formation of Tabung Warisan Negara ( National Heritage Fund) to attract private participation in restoring historic heritage building.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said this during the Budget 2023 tabling, which includes redevelopment of the Sultan Abdul Samad building and Carcosa Seri Negara, in partnership with Think City.
“Think City will also work with the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to participate to revitalise life in the city centre through beautification projects in focal locations and raising the potential of historic and cultural assets.
“A total of RM 30 million is also provided among others to increase the liveability of the public housing in Kuala Lumpur,” he said when tabling the Budget 2023 at the Dewan Rakyat today.
He also added that the government would allocate RM 50 million to Melaka and Penang to continue preserve world heritage sites recognised by UNESCO.
