tiger-seen-behind-mahidol-university-in-thailand’s-kanchanaburi-province

A tiger was sighted early yesterday morning (Friday) in the woods behind the Mahidol University campus in Sai Yok district of Kanchanaburi province.

A villager from Lum Sum sub-district, Pranom Sa-ngiampaisarn, advised officials at Salak Phra Wildlife Sanctuary that, at about 4am, she was driving along a dirt road in the forest behind the university and saw a tiger suddenly run across in front of her car.

She said that she is sure it was a tiger because she saw the black stripes on its body and its face.

A team of forest rangers and veterinarians from the university, led by Paitoon Intarabut, chief of Salak Phra Wildlife Sanctuary, have gone to the scene to investigate.

The team found a few footprints, which were confirmed to be those of a tiger.

Park rangers then told villagers to inform them immediately if they see the cat again.
