Officials from the Mirror Foundation, police and local officials, supported by a sniffer dog, continue their search for an 8-month-old baby boy, who has been missing from home in the Bang Len district of Nakhon Pathom Province since Sunday.

The 16-year-old mother of the baby, Pilaiporn, reportedly told foundation officials and police that she suspects that her son might have been kidnapped from home by a stranger, wearing a yellow shirt, as claimed by her uncle.

She said she was half awake, but felt that someone, who might have been one of her relatives, had taken the baby for a walk outsidee.

Pilaiporn was escorted by police today (Tuesday) to Bang Luang district police station for further questioning.

Residents in the same neighbourhood told the police that they didn’t see any strangers or anyone holding a baby in the area on Sunday.

There were four people in the victim’s house, which is a small community grocer, on the day the baby went missing. They were the baby, the parents and a 12-year-old niece.

Pol Col Pallop Suriyakul Na Ayutthaya, deputy commander of Nakhon Pathom police, said yesterday that police have questioned everyone in the baby’s family, as well as a few others in the neighbourhood, but he declined to elaborate.

The search efforts yesterday, which included nearby canals, failed to find any trace of the missing infant.
