Hilton has debuted its first Curio Collection by Hilton in Poland with the opening of Hotel Saski Krakow, Curio Collection by Hilton. Located in the heart of Krakow, the 117-room hotel offers easy access to many art and history museums and Wawel Royal Castle, one of the country’s most historically and culturally significant landmarks.
“Marking the debut of Curio Collection by Hilton in Poland, Hotel Saski Krakow is a stunning addition to our portfolio of over 120 unique hotels and resorts worldwide, handpicked for its distinct character,” said Jenna Hackett, global brand head, Canopy by Hilton and Curio and Tapestry Collections by Hilton. “The hotel will open its doors with a rich 200-year history, offering guests an authentic insight into Krakow’s cultural past while providing the modern comforts of a boutique hotel. Hotel Saski Krakow joins a growing number of fantastic Curio Collection properties in Europe, including Sea Breeze Santorini Beach Resort and The Emerald House Lisbon, which opened earlier this year.”
Hotel Saski Krakow, Curio Collection by Hilton showcases a modern design influenced by the property’s rich musical and cultural history. In cooperation with internationally acclaimed Krakow-born photographer Ryszard Horowitz, corridors and rooms are adorned with portraits of musicians and composers such as Louis Armstrong, Krzysztof Penderecki, Aretha Franklin, Czesław Niemen and more. The historic ballroom, Saska Hall, where legendary composers Francis Liszt, Johannes Brahms and Ignacy Paderewski have performed, has been reopened with frescos restored by hand. In addition to designs referencing the hotel’s history, other modern amenities include a swimming pool, spa and fitness centre, and a business centre.
Regale Bar & Restaurant, the hotel’s dining outlet, offers guests an authentic Polish venue with a stylish, global twist. Dishes are crafted with premium quality ingredients sourced locally and served with innovative and delightful touches by Roman Pawlik, one of the most famed chefs in Krakow. His signature dishes include the Onion Tart, with green peas, caramelised onion and Old Giewont cheese mousse, or the specially created “Saski cake”, amongst others.
The drinks experience at Regale Bar & Restaurant is heightened by top mixology, signature cocktails such as “Saski Mule” and “Hungarian King”, an impressive wine list, and local and home-made liquors and vodkas. A bespoke trolley serving tableside cocktails each evening adds to the ambience and furthers the combination of the rich, storied history and musical heritage of the building.
“This is a unique place for Krakow, which, thanks to its rich cultural traditions, definitely stands out from the accommodation infrastructure in Poland,” said Jan Pilch, investors representative, Abriz Sp. z o.o. “I am proud that we could contribute to maintaining the historical continuity of this place by writing its new chapter. What is equally important to me, thanks to accompanying functions such as the Sala Saska ballroom or the Regale Bar & Restaurant, the hotel will also be available to people from the outside, also to the inhabitants of Krakow. As part of the Curio Collection by Hilton brand, Hotel Saski Krakow receives a recommendation given to the most unique places worldwide.”
