Hot Baked Chicken Wings: Ingredients
- Chicken wings
- Hot chilli and garlic sauce
- Soy sauce
- Ginger
- Garlic
- Coriander
- Fresh red chillies
Add the chilli and garlic sauce to the chicken wings. You’ll find lots of good chilli sauce versions in the supermarket, and even better ones in a local Asian supermarket.
Next, add in a good splash of soy sauce.
Season with salt and ground black pepper.
Peel the fresh ginger and then grate it as fine as you possibly can.
Peel and chop the garlic. When it is finely chopped, add a little sprinkle of salt and use the back of the knife to ‘grind’ it into a paste. This will take a couple of minutes, but the smoother it is, the better the end result.
Add the grated ginger and chopped garlic to the wings.
Use a pair of tongs to mix everything until the wings have been evenly coated.
Pop them on a tray covered in foil (saves on the washing up later!) and pour any of the additional sauce over the top.
Pop them into the oven at 180C/360F for about 20-25 minutes depending on the size of the wings.
While the wings are cooking, chop up the red chillies leaving the seeds in for an extra kick. Slice the coriander.
Check that the wings are cooked through to the middle by pulling one apart. It should be white through to the middle and any juices should run clear. The skin should also be crispy on the outside.
Remove from the oven when cooked and toss in a bowl with the coriander and chopped chillies.
Serve them up immediately and see if you can handle the heat of these gorgeous wings!
When it comes to hot baked chicken wings, this recipe is a must-try.
