The Recording Academy awarded her a Grammy in the Audio Book, Narration, And Storytelling Recording category.

This was for her memoir Finding Me, which beat out competitors like fellow EGOT Mel Brooks.

“I wrote this book to honor the six-year-old Viola. To honor her life, her joy, her trauma, everything. It has been such a journey,” Davis said.

Davis previously won an Emmy in 2015, Tonys in 2001 and Fences in 2010, and an Oscar in 2016.

Previously, the other most recent person to earn EGOT status was Jennifer Hudson, who won a Tony in June 2022.
