The popular Adina Melbourne on Flinders showcases a new look, revealed for the first time for The Australian Open and 2023 Victorian events season. New designs inspired by the nostalgia of Malthouse Lane’s history in the industrial era, the new look embraces edginess with black metal fittings, aged brass finishes, and charcoal tones.
Adina’s brand expands over Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Europe, offering stylish apartments with hotel services and amenities. Adina Melbourne on Flinders is complete with its six adjoining warehouse-style apartments on Malthouse Lane, offering 59 spacious apartments.
“This hotel is perfect for big familiar or friends travelling together,” detailed Chris Sedgwick, Group Chief Operating Officier. “It’s actually the perfect way to activate some of the huge balconies with terrific views over the city of botanical gardens.”
The hotel’s lobby is a major stand-out with its new Rosso Levanto marble reception desk, Mooi flocked wallpaper, and existing flooring and original timber-lined walls retained. Alongside the new interior, the hotel’s proximity to Federation Square is convenient for guests who want to enjoy local restaurants, bars, and major attractions.
Interior designer, Penny Del Castillo, emphasised the hotel’s new character that boasts authenticity.
“I think guests will be delighted with the results,” Castillo said. “Adina’s warehouse-style accommodation has its own separate entrance on Malthouse Lane, just a few metres down from Eau de Vie’s hidden bar, so it’s a bit of an arrival experience. The six open-plan warehouses really are an inspirational space to retreat to and feature three variations to room layouts, each with fabulously high ceilings, original floorboards from the 1920s, views down the laneways and access to some of Melbourne’s finest restaurants and bars.”
Sedgwick shared how the facelift of Adina Melbourne is part of a transformation program to reinvigorate many first-generation hotels, such as Sydney’s Adina Darling Harbour and Adina Town Hall.
“Think of it as a sort of welcome back to Melbourne after a long period of lockdown,” Sedgwick said.
