SK ecoplant recently announced that its subsidiary TES completed the construction of a 3,700-square-meter IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) plant in Las Vegas of Nevada in the United States and put the plant into operation. TES specializes in recycling electrical/electronic waste and waste batteries from electric vehicle.

The Las Vegas plant is TES-USA’s fourth base in the United States after Seattle, Atlanta and Fredericksburg. When disposing of various IT assets from IT devices such as smartphones and PCs to data center equipment, the company plans to conduct ITAD work that completely destroys information and data saved in them.

TES is developing ITAD as its main business along with the electronic device and waste battery recycling business. ITAD covers not only information destruction but environmentally friendly processing through the recycling/reuse of IT assets. The ultimate goal of ITAD is to minimize the amount of discarded IT assets and reuse them.

IT assets going through an ITAD process are either resold as refurbished products after repair and inspection, or disassembled and sold as parts or materials.
