A new agreement with Solare Hotels and Resorts is set to strengthen Sabre Corporation’s position in the Japanese marketplace while enabling the hotel chain to broaden its geographic reach as Japan re-opens to overseas travellers.

The deal will see Solare optimise its distribution strategy by utilising Sabre’s innovative SynXis platform to showcase its inventory in front of hundreds of thousands of travel agents globally across all major Global Distribution Systems (GDSs). This will significantly increase Solare’s distribution reach and potential revenue opportunities while delivering travel agents worldwide with access to content from the hotel chain.  

According to Katsuyuki Yoshida, Exclusive Officer of Sales & Revenue Management Division of Solare Hotels and Resorts, it is essential for the chain to work with a technology provider who understands the perspectives of the Japanese tourism market while enabling them to tell the world about Solare Hotels and Resorts effectively, and what their properties and locations have to offer.

“Distributing our content via the SynXis platform will enhance our hotels’ visibility, helping us increase bookings and fulfil our aim of making the guest experience more enjoyable and fulfilling for more travellers. We aim to create hotels with deep connections to their locations, and this new agreement will ensure that we can showcase those hotels and those connections to a wide global audience.”  

It is currently a critical moment for the Japanese travel industry as the nation relaxes its border rules on COVID-19 and opens up to selected tour groups. Hotels must be ready to capture recovery and drive their demand as more global markets open up. Therefore, the distribution agreement comes at the perfect time and is one of Sabre’s key upcoming deals in Japan.
