The World’s Most Awarded Single Malt Scotch Whisky brand has added a brand new collection, available exclusively via travel retailers. The four expressions have together been named The Perpetual Collection, to reflect their inception in vats that have never been emptied. With each fresh fill, generations of whisky are built on one another, increasing the character, dimension and complexity that results in a unique drinking experience.
The whisky that never sits still – for those always on the go
The Perpetual Collection is made using the Solera Vat process; adding continuous layers by only ever bottling half the whisky in the vats before refilling, so some of the original liquid remains as a line from the past into the future. The four whiskies in the Perpetual Collection reflect the innovative and dynamic nature synonymous with Glenfiddich; a name that has long been associated with breaking boundaries within the industry. As the creation process is one of movement and evolution, it’s fitting that the demographic for this bottling is the international traveller.
Celebrating the launch
The packaging also echoes this sense of flow, powerfully symbolising the dynamism of the Solera process through contemporary artwork by Berlin-based studio A N F. Their generative art created by code features a variation of six bespoke pieces of 3D artwork, from hich customers will be able to choose. Look out for Glenfiddich pop-up retail spaces in airports, where you’ll have the chance to explore the collection through an immersive experience; interacting with the collective artwork, tasting the whisky and perusing the gifting station.

The four expressions
VAT 01 (ABV 40%)
The first in the collection is an elegant and well-balanced single malt with a wide appeal. Ever in motion thanks to continuous marrying in our Solera VAT 1, this layers sweet and spicy notes for a soft, smooth and mellow taste with added depth thanks to its maturation in bourbon and red wine casks.
VAT 02 (ABV 43%)
A little more complex, this has been double matured in oak and Spanish sherry casks for a smooth and intriguing character with a bold and silky finish.
VAT 03 (ABV 50.2% – non-chill filtered)
Completing 15 years of maturation in European oak sherry and ex-bourbon casks, this expression reflects Glenfiddich’s pioneering ethos. Full-bodied with warm notes of spice, hints of nutty marzipan and dark sherry oak, this is one for connoisseurs.
VAT 04 (ABV 47.8% – non-chill filtered)
Finally we have this warming and refined liquid, aged in Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks over a period of 18 years. As such, it’s distinguished, with a deep, rich aroma of robust oak, ripe orchard fruit and baked apple.
