All the new bars and restaurants you need to head to this March

Singapore may be home to only 728 square-kilometres of space, but that hasn’t stopped our restaurant numbers from rising every month.

While news that crowd-favourite The Feather Blade making a comeback is worth getting excited about, we’re also stoked to see brand new establishments like Clos Pasoh, helmed by chef Louis Pacquelin of the now temporarily shuttered BBR by Alain Ducasse.

Other places to watch out for? Tropical bar Lil Tiger’s fun cocktails and its scrumptious binchotan-fired dishes that’ll guarantee a smashing good time.

Clos Pasoh

BBR by Alain Ducasse made a stellar return to the scene late 2019, but was forced to set its status to “temporarily closed until further notice” as a result of the pandemic. Now, the restaurant’s executive chef Louis Pacquelin finds himself with a new venture: Clos Pasoh. The “new school French” restaurant is nestled in a heritage shophouse along Bukit Pasoh Road, updated with tons of lush greenery, Pierre Frey wallpaper and Ong Shunmugam furniture. As for its food, nibble on light bites like the Foie Gras Tart, or feast on heavier dishes like the Trippes et Caviar, a twice-cooked (first braised then fried) beef tripe dish that’s doused with a caviar and Noilly-Prat sauce. Wash it all down with any of the 1500 wine labels in their collection.

Fat Belly Social Steakhouse

Fat Belly has opened a brand new location in the Telok Ayer neighbourhood, complete with an elevated look that’s fit for diners around the area. Here, the 60-seater social dining space will feature dishes like the creamy Crusted Mac & Cheese and the Uni, Lardo and Caviar on Sourdough glazed with beef fat. To complement your meats, grab a glass or two of Fat Belly Social Steakhouse’s wines, which besides your regular reds and whites also see organic and biodynamic alternatives too.

Kulto

Kulto, a new Spanish fare diner, has opened along Amoy Street. Chef-owner Jose Alonso’s Spanish roots inspire the food here — think classic dishes like the Seafood Paella and Squid Ink Paella. As a nod to Singapore’s famous Chilli Crab, you’ll find the diner’s own take on the dish in the form of the Chili Crab Croquette – a bite-sized pocket of flavour explosion, made with chunks of fresh crab meat that are bound by béchamel sauce and paired with the house special chilli sauce.

Lil Tiger

There are three words to sum up Lil Tiger: binchotan, tropical and cocktails. This brand-new, buzzing bar is home to eight different imbibes of your choice, including the Callista, a fruity concoction of vodka, grapefruit juice, and elderflower tonic. Besides drinks, you’ll want to head down for a taste of their fresh oysters, ceviches and burgers. If you’re a Mexican fanatic like us, then you won’t want to miss the Chicken Tinga Taco, which is assembled with chargrilled french poulet, cilantro, onion and regañona salsa.

Feather Blade

After shutting its doors to guests last year, Feather Blade is making a return to the dining scene, this time along Tanjong Pagar Road. Here, guests can expect a revamped food and beverage menu, alongside stunning interiors conceptualised by OWIU Studio, the same people behind the design for its sister restaurant, RAPPU. Besides the iconic Feather Blade Steak and Handshake Burger, be sure to make room for elevated side dishes like the Potatoes, which are now fried in wagyu beef fat and dressed with dollops of dill cream and ikura. Fancy a drink? The bar is helmed by Diageo World Class winner Boo Jing Heng, who crafts tipples like the Beefy Old Fashioned, made with wagyu fat-washed bourbon.
