5 watches that will win her over this Valentine’s Day 2021
Whilst time with loved ones is precious, a timepiece for a loved one could be even more precious.
And while your leading lady will still appreciate a tastefully-arranged bouquet of roses and a box of chocolates this year, we know that a well-crafted timepiece will truly blow her away. Each a symbol of the passage of time, these women’s watches are a practical way of showing your love and commitment, more so on Valentine’s Day.
There’s a watch here to suit every lady out there, but one thing they have in common is a dedication to heritage, craftsmanship, and design. From Hermes’ equestrian-inspired Nantucket to Hublot’s spunky new Big Bang, here are the best women’s watches to gift on the big day.

Chanel Première Extrait De Camélia
If there’s one flower that Coco Chanel so adored, it’s the camellia, so it was only a matter of time before the beautiful bloom found its way onto another icon of the Maison: The Première. Available in two variations — one with a black lacquer dial and the other with 116 brilliant-cut diamonds — the two watches are both crafted with an 18-karat yellow gold case inspired by the octagonal N°5’s bottle lid, as well as a titanium caseback. In true Chanel style, they’re both minimally chic, but also characterised by a matching 18-karat gold camellia charm that’s either set with a single diamond as the bud, or iced-out completely with more diamonds. A durable rubber strap with a velvety finish makes this one that’ll take her from dawn to dusk easily.
Bulgari Diva’s Dream Peacock Dischi
Over at Bulgari, the peacock takes flight this season via three different timepieces. Of the lot, the Dischi stands out for being a less literal tribute; instead of showcasing the whole bird, the marquetry dial expertly applies the bird’s feathers with an ancient inlay technique, with the central circle depicting the “eye” of the peacock feather. Nearly 500 feathers had to be carefully sorted through, before being passed over an antique brass steam engine to reveal its natural brilliance for the entrancing mosaic finish. An in-house BVL 308 “dischi” automatic movement powers the two rotating discs, each with a round and pear brilliant-cut diamond to tell the time.
The Bulgari Diva’s Dream Peacock Dischi is limited to only 50 pieces.
Hublot Big Bang One Click 33mm
The past year might have been far from decent, but Hublot wants to make the current one brighter — and quite literally too. Refined for slender wrists and rendered in stainless steel or in King Gold, this new Big Bang allows for the quick change of straps through its “One Click” fastening system, making it possible to switch up or tone down the watch’s appearance throughout the day. Like its more masculine counterparts, this ladies’ timepiece is recognisable by its industrial-chic screws, stylised numerals, and diamond-encrusted bezel, and is run by the HUB1120 self-winding movement within.
Inspired by the anchor chain links of the Chaîne d’ancre bracelet — a low key nod to the French Maison’s horseriding roots — the Nantucket is one of the House’s most recognisable timepieces for its unique “rectangle within a rectangle” shape. This new take on the iconic link sees either a gold or steel case that seamlessly merges into a bracelet. Even the font for the numerals have been inspired by the legendary bracelet, which when paired with features like diamonds and a mother-of-pearl dial lends an incredible elegance and sophistication, and blurs the lines between jewellery and watch.
Cartier Pasha de Cartier
One of Cartier’s most iconic timepieces — rumoured to have been originally designed by Cartier for the Pasha of Marrakesh in 1933 — made a comeback last year, and it hasn’t stopped turning heads since. Like the older iterations, this new 35mm sports a “square in a circle” design that lends a graceful symmetry, drawing the eye to the chained crown cover, which opens to reveal the winding crown. This little easter egg is made better by the fact that you can engrave the area just below the crown with initials, making this gift all the more personal. 48 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling 1.15 carats encircle the bezel on this one for an added touch of luxury.
